any other I-140 petition. The priority date shall be the date

3. Drive cross country with family and have fun. Meet all my friends on the way.

6. May be use I-485 receipt in Air India toilet on the way home (might hurt a bit but that is OK).

My advice place the new approval as a bookmark on the current visa page when presenting the passport at the counter. This almost forces them to consider the new approval, also provide a copy of your I-797. Check the date before leaving the counter and politely ask for it to be corrected if wrong.

I haven't got any notification from the consulate about any admin processing (which i am assuming is same as 221g forms), neither the VO gave any 221g after the interview. I hope it goes on smoothly. *prays*

People who want to contribute money will always do. You may get a few people to donate because of the "Donor" status, but most I feel want to contribute because they care.
Please allow me to turn around that question and pose it back to you - so how do we keep and attract people to volunteer (for all the wonderful things that I mentioned in my post)?
All I am saying is that this approach could hurt more than it may help.
Yes...I respect the volunteer. But still we need money. What is the source for that. I am not saying that I am going to contribute everymonth. Whenever possible I am going to. Otherwise just keep going and not going to whine about that.

My wife has been offered a position by her client, a company which received TARP funding and repaid it. These are her immigration details:
H1b start date: 01-Oct-2004
Perm applied: Jan-2008
Audited Twice: First time because of FRAGOMEN and second time asking for some documents
Perm Status: Pending
Original H1b expiration: 30-Sep-2010
H1B extended because Perm has been pending for more than a year
Current H1b expiration: 30-Sep-2011
I do understand it is better to transfer with an approved I-140 because it allows for porting priority date and 3 year extension of H1 with new company but I am not sure new company can wait that long.
In the current situation, is it possible to transfer H1b and get the validity until 30-Sep-2011? Appreciate your responses.

I got RFE on my case my case is NSC-CSC-NSC Transfer. Got Soft LUD in last 2 days and got RFE mail yesterday night. Waiting to hear back from lawyer about type of RFE. But atleast seems like they had started working on my case and if no RFE it would have been approved.
What's your WAC receipt, notice date? When (date) did CSC transferred your case back to NSC?

Yes. If you are CP, you must intend to work for your sponsoring employer. That does not mean you need to work for that employer in India, but when you receive your GC, you have to work for the sponsor.
You can file an I-485 later if you wish, even if you are in the CP queue...if you enter the US in a way that permits AoS...that is, I don't think you can enter on a B1 tourist visa, then file AoS, but if you can get an H1b, you will be fine to file I-485.

BIG 5 is good. But I doubt they will start the GC anytime soon as they themselves will be in midst of lay-offs (could be even minor). In this economy every big firm is shedding people. They will say they will sponsor, but things get dragged on for long.
