    Finally, I am current now, I spoke to IO today again ( Again means I call them every month, every week atleast once & So far I got Nice IO's)
    She said your case is in current processing time, has not been yet assigned to any officer. checked all the status NC/SC/FP, everything is clear, just waiting for an officer to be assigned. call back after 15-20 days If I dont get any response.

    I wanted to know that what impact does one have for calling IO's multiple times.

    I like. The varying tones are very interesting. I'm sure the black and white version looks better than the color.
    The color version is very dull, so I tried desaturating and bumping the contrast quite a bit. I haven't done much B&W so it's a bit of trial and error but I think B&W might suit this type of graphic picture.

    485 fess from Jul 30th will be 1010USD. This also has EAD & AP fees built into it and you can keep on renewing EAD & AP with out paying fees every year unil you get your GC.


    The first-time EAD/AP will definitely be free. But I could not find any explicit language indicating that renewals will be free. Here is the relevant section from the federal register notice:

    Form I-485. For filing an application for permanent resident status
    or creation of a record of lawful permanent residence--$930 for an
    applicant fourteen years of age or older; $600 for an applicant under
    the age of fourteen years when submitted concurrently for adjudication
    with the Form I-485 of a parent and the applicant is seeking to adjust
    status as a derivative of the parent, based on a relationship to the
    same individual who provides the basis for the parent's adjustment of
    status, or under the same legal authority as the parent; no fee for an
    applicant filing as a refugee under section 209(a) of the Act; provided
    that no additional fee will be charged for a request for travel
    document (advance parole) or employment authorization filed by an
    applicant who has paid the Form I-485 application fee, regardless of
    whether the Form I-131 or Form I-765 is required to be filed by such
    applicant to receive these benefits.

    At best, this is ambiguous as to whether a fee will be required on renewals.

    I do not think, number of employees matter. I work for a desi company and it has just 2 employees. Labor was breeze and 140 got approved in 4 weeks. Never got any RFE. However, I was in EB-3 despite having 4 years bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.

    Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone was ever able to change from Software Engineer to Technical Marketing Engineer (TME), using the AC21 portability rules. A TME needs similar level of technical skills as that of a Software Engineer, of course used for a different purpose.

    A short description of this role (for those of you who don't know about this role)

    The Technical Marketing Engineer role is exciting and challenging for the employee that enjoys equally working hands on with technology in the lab and marketing this knowledge to customers. Working with marketing, engineering, services and the sales channels

    I really like to consider moving to TME roles. I see this as a first point to moving to Product Manager roles. One could move to Product Manager directly, but I guess the transition for a Software Engineer will be smooth, when he/she goes from Software Engineer -> TME -> Product Manager. The advantage with TME is, you can leverage your technical skills to perform this new role and then gradually hone your marketing/soft skills, to move to the Product Manager position. This is also the input I got from the Marketing Director of one of the reputed firms.

    All looks good, but I am not sure if this transition to TME will be acceptable under the AC21 rules. It would be nice to know if anyone has ever able to do it successfully (without getting any RFEs/rejections). Right now, I have a feeling that I am totally stuck in the Software Engineer role and really like to explore my options.

    Appreciate your thoughts on this

    Given the fact that ur I-140 is not approved yet, I would wait till the approval before considering any job change.

    I guess employer need to revoke unused H1Bs as part of H1B rules. Maybe that is the reason employer revoked past H1Bs to keep their side clean.

    I remember reading Murthy bullettin where she mentioned back-wages are an issue if H1B is not explicitly revoked.

    My guess.

    My previous attorney also mentioned the same thing. Looking at this thread it seems all soft/hard lud's were generated on Sunday, April 26th. Maybe a computer program flagged these cases.

    Hi All,
    I used to commute across the border from Canada to work(on h1b) between 2004 and 2006. My passport was stamped just the first time and never after that.

    I've heard of this behavior at PoE especially for Mexico and Canada.. I think we need to remind and ask for stamping.. even if they say its okay...

    I landed in Canada in 2004 and came back in 2 weeks... My original I-94 had expired.. but I 'd new one on my new H1 approval.. So they gave me a new I-94.. My wife's I-94 was valid.. so she didn't get a new I-94... But her passport was stamped... May be because it was first trip...

    I agree with gokhale35 to provide evidence from CC... but if its older than a year.. most CC bills won't be available... lease copy may be possible... I think affidavit plus letter from employer may suffice.. But a lawyer would be your best bet anyways...

    Good luck... should be resolved soon.. and you'll get GC soon...

    Thanks! And no, I have not gotten my green card, not even close!!

    However, let's assume that PERM does take 6 to 12 months (from filing date) and then, the I-140/I-485 stage take another year...that would be 2 years, right? Why do you say 5 to 10?

    Because data you are referring is incorrect and fake. Data you are referring is produced by a business to make people come to that site.

    And, if you seem know the answer, then why are you asking? Sorry that I wasted my time replying to your initial post.

    It is a great achievement. Congrats to the core team and all the volunteers who contributed. There is a Tamil proverb meaning, "little rain droplets make a huge river". Each of our small contribution would definitely give us financial strength to put forth our case with the US congress & Government.

    let us keep the spirit.

    For the past one week I posted more then 50 fliers in many of the apartment communities in my neighborhood and also sent lot of emails to friends and groups & forums in my company.

    I did receive few disappointing comments on our effort but ignored and continuing my effort.

    I am pretty sure $10,000 is limit while coming into USA. While going to India, the limit is much less, about Rs.12,000 or so (check with some Indian websites). I know, you need declare (for Tax purposes) if you carry more than this amount. I don’t know tax liability of this declarion. Also, the amount varies on the purpose and duration of abroad trip.

    There is no grace period for finding a new h1b employer - but generally USCIS overlooks gaps of 1-2 months between employment assuming you are able to transfer your H1B to another employer soon
