I'm in USA on H1B since Apr-17-2004 with out any break. I'll complete my 6 year stay in USA H1B by Apr-16-2010.
My current H1B & I-94 extension was applied on Jun-06-2008 (applied in a group) and approved till May-01-2011.
My GC labor was applied on May-29-2008 and approved on Oct-11-2008. But..
We didn't specify about GC labor on H1B/I-94 extension petition.
My GC I-140 was appilied on Nov-12-2008 and approved on Apr-20-2009.
Can you please suggest when should I apply for my next H1B & I-94 extensions (based on 'Apr-16-2010' OR 'May-01-2011') ?

The misconception that immigrants are displacing American workers is gaining popularity. If we are to make a case for immigration reform that helps EB community, we ought to show that EB immigrants are not displacing American workers, but helping the overall economy. In the midst of current economic situation and growing public sentiment against immigrants, paying taxes, obeying laws and assimilating with American society and culture is not enough. It is important to stress the obvious - how individuals from EB community are contributing towards the economy, innovation and competitiveness. In order to illustrate this, I would like to get examples of people from EB community.
The people mentioned in the earlier replies do not help this argument. I am looking for examples such as the founder of orkut - who is an EB immigrant, once on H1-B visa.

Query on Advance Parol. Send Clear Copies of Passports and I 94 Cards.
Question? Does I need to send all I 94 Cards of each H1B and all copies of passports with all pages.

I had the same query for my wife. I sent color copies of passport front and back, latest visa, I-94, DL and EAD all in color. Keep me posted how long it took for you to get approval after you sent the docs.

My application got approved today. The above posts shows what it was showing and everything. Hope you are in the same boat and your get approved as well. Good luck!
Now at least I know that they do process the cases that were transfered. aat0995: Can you please mention your USCIS receive date for I 140.
Mine was received by NSC on Mar 22, 2007 and transfered to TSC on Apr 29 2008. I am on EB3.

It's state law.
Why would anybody ask for visa to issue a driver's license? How is one's driving privilege dependent upon visa? No one has ever asked me or my wife or my friends for a visa to issue a driver's license. Is this some law specific to some states?

Has USCIS started premium processing of I-140 again ?
Can you please send me the link ? What happens if one has filed I-140 concurrently with 485 ? Does 485 gets expedited too ? let me know quick please..
I do not think USCIS has started premium processig for 140. As per last update, the Extension of suspension of premium process is indefinite until next update.

Guys.Don't make the mistake that I made.
When you do medicals, get a copy for yourself as the doctor would seal the form and give you. Keep a copy for yourself.
I went in to get Physicals done and was charged 580$ for me and my wife.
they normally charge 200$ per person which is quite normal here in NJ/NY.
But they couldn't fine a record for me and had to order blood work and charged me160 for it. Also gave me 25$ flu shot.
On top of all they won't use my insurance for physicals.
SUCKS!!!!

It's all gas gas gas... Manmohan Singh is heading one of the most corrupt & messy govt. in the history of India. All the ministers are busy looting the country and would like to make most in the remaining 3 years of their terms. Forget they will do anything that would benefit anybody else but themselves..it's only that overexcited journos ask the ministers what they will do and without even thinking they vomit nonsenses. Think logically how this can be a WTO issue, it is completely in their jurisdiction whatever fees they may want to charge, take it or move on...nobody is forcing them to use the expensive Visas ?

There is nothing much IV can do to fix the inefficiency of the USCIS. How can IV help if USCIS cannot do its job in time? We can request them to work harder, thats all we can do.
Multi-year EAD/APs ( 3 years) are already part of the ongoing IV Admin fixes campaign. Having 3 year EAD/APs will fix some of the issues mentioned by you.

I guess we are here long on waiting for our green cards in the mean time I am suggesting we do a letter campaign to write in thousands to the USCIS director and lodge our protest about the problem the immigrant community is facing because of delays and irregularities in adjudication of EADs and APs. First and foremost things is a document which USCIS takes 6 months to Adjudicate is valid for 1 year which makes no sense.
Secondly USCIS should make efforts to make adjudicate it in not more than 2 months since we have to make travel plans etc. We should not be bounded by these documents. If for some reason it takes more than 2 months than 1 should able to get it via infopass, and a family member's death should not be the only reason to get the AP we are human beings and we have other social bondings too like marriages etc. I urge the core team to take steps to come forward a begin a campaign.... I guess this is the foremost need of the moment for 1000s of us..

I plan to transfer the priority date of an old LC to a new one. My attorney said my case won't work, since the two LCs belong to the same company and the positions (job titles) are the same. She indicates at least one of them needs be different.
I spent a whole night and cannot find any info about this.
Do you happen to know this? Any comments or links would be appreciated.

yes, now we should all start calling uscis - atleast 10 times a day, open SRs, take 4-5 infopass appointments and maybe consider going to NSC or TSC in person to see if we can talk to the IO (or have a cup of tea with the IO) to expedite our respective cases.
Who knows, if we do such things, we mite get our GCs faster than ppl already waiting ahead of us in the queue. :)
