I have seen people getting photos with Amitabh Bachhan or Shahrukh khan.
Does it make them a film star or even give them a break in films?

i have applied for AP 3 months back for myself (primary) and my wife. we got wife's AP 3 weeks back. not even LUD on mine. so i faxed expedite request on Jan26th.
Got a letter 2 days back saying,
' this aknowledges ur expedite fax. we have been unable to locate any record of a decision made on ur case. if u desire, u can file a duplicate application'.
they asked to send dup application with a 'Attention: Do not open in mailroom, deliver to co-ord supervisor'.
they also enclosed an bright orange letter for expedite proc and asked me to place on top.
the header of this orange letter reads 'Attachment 4: NSC has determined that ur appl previously submitted cannot be located :-( therefore u r requested to file a duplicate'.
im guessing in the pile of apps, they couldnt fetch mine :-(
i kinda ignored this letter and been preparing for H1 stamping back home. took VFS appointment, plane tix, what not.
to top all this, yesterday there was soft LUD on my case and again another one today.
so i am guessing they located my application and started working on it.
i have seen in case of my wife's AP and another one on the forum, few days before AP approval, u get soft LUDs 3/4 times and then the status changes to 'document mailed to applicant'.
while i still have H1 back-up plan, im hoping my AP will get approved in 2/3 days.

If the govt can lobby for nuke bill, why they cannot do it for techs?
Govt well know that a big chunk of money is gonna come from NRIs and even bigger will come from future NRIs. To sustains India's growth they need it big time.
In my opinion it would be a good idea to seek Govt of India's help..

Thanks So Much Ann, That gives me direction and what to request my employer when I talk to them later this afternoon.
I have one more question? When I spoke with USCIS and opened the inquiry in dec 2010. why did they come up with " RFE resposne not received till todate?" Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. Thanks

don't send copy of passport or DL. it clearly says not to, and my experience was it is unnecessary, as you will get a biometrics appointment (where they check your id).

I am a July 23rd filer with ND of Sept 24th....no LUDs but RFE last year.....I know of ppl who got GCs with no LUDs to their records...so it is anybody's guess.
I have a WAC no. for TSC so I am screwed further....TSC overflowed my case to CSC and then back to TSC....ppl like me are the worst affected....but since I got an RFE last year they must have opened my file and why would they open my I-485 if they are following ND which i not current even now...
It is all a big mess...god only knows....USCIS is a black box we only know what goes inside that box...what comes out is a lottery....satta...

I filed for AOS in Aug 07, my attorney advised me that we could combine the checks payable to USCIS for family members (EG: in place of one check for my 485 and one more for my wife we could combine both the checks for 485 and issue a single check for twice the amount). Based on the above, i issued 1 check for 485, 1 for EAD, 1 for FP and 1 for AP.
Now my checks have been cashed and i am able to see the receipt number on the back of the cashed check. I see two receipt numbers on the back of the checks for EAD and AP however i see only 1 receipt number on the back of the check for 485 (and the same number on the back of the check for FP)
Did any body else also send combined checks? Did you get a single receipt number or multiple numbers?

I've used employer A labor to get a 7th year extension while employed with employer B but I didn't have that RFE situation. Since, you are employed with employer A currently and got an RFE, asking for H1 transfer + 1 year extension could be tricky.

I have been working for employer A for more than 3 years and I dont know the reason for RFE, but it is related to the employer, following is the RFE, My LC is approved and applied 140 in Nov'06 which is pending. Since it's such a huge RFE ( 16 questions ), I was looking for some backup...please advice.
In short, My RFE is asking for..
Current number of employess: DHS records indicate that the petitioner has filed a disproportionately higher numberof H1b, and/or L-1 petitions than the number of employess shown on the petition. Submit an explanatoin for filing such an unusally high number of peitions in proportion to the low number of employees shown on you petition.
Copies of all H and L approval notices, petitioner's organizational chart, Form 941 Quarterly wage report, Payroll Summary, Federal Income Taxes, IRS tax return filing status transcripts, lease agreement, floor plan, office photos etc..
Consultants and Staffing Agencies: If the petitioner is, in any way , engaged in the business of consulting, employment staffing, or job placement that contracts short-term employment for workers who are traditionally self-employer, submit evidence to establish whether a specialty occupation exists for the beneficiary.
No matter whether the alien will be working within the employment contractor's operation on projects for the client or whether the alien will work at the end-client's place of business - uscis must examine the ultimate employment of the alien, and determine whether the postion qualifies as a specialty occupation. Please clarify the petitioner's employer-employee relationship with the beneficiary and, if not already provided, submit a description of conditions of employment as provided in contractual agreements, statements of work, work orders, service agreements, or letters from authorized officials of the ultimate end-client companies where the work will actually be performed that lists the name, descritipon of the duties..etc..

Question:
If one applied for a new F-1 at the consulate and for whatever reason F-1 is denied, can she return back on H-4 visa that's already stamped.?
The F-1 at the consulate - you get to know immediately rather than wait in limbo for H4 to F-1 COS.
And if H4 to F-1 COS get approved in the middle of a semester when one is taking less then full time load, what happens?

On May 12, 2009, we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to update your address. You can use our processing dates to estimate when your case may be processed by following the link below. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case by registering in the link below.
Any idea, what would be the possible reason for this? Please advice.

I remember getting a similar email for H1B some 2-3 years back even though my H1 was approved and I already received the I797. No issues though, they just sent another I797. :)
I guess this can happen if their Database was restored to an older backup. So they had to go thru some of the processing again.
