My 27" looks great @ 1920x1080...
In games, you can't tell the difference.
Games are a bit different but if you run the desktop or other apps at 1920x1080, it won't look great. Even in games, I'm sure you can notice a difference if you are honest.

Thank you for your advice and help. However, because this particular iMac G4 didn't look so good, I am no longer interested in it. I did, though, buy an iMac G5 17" (1.8 GHz with Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse) for $328.95. Earlier today, I tried to bid on a iMac G5 with an Intel processor that was running Snow Leopard. I lost by $5.01! :( I wanted that one so badly!

i don't know if i think i am old school. while i have been around since i don't think i have contrubuted to MR as much as some...
i don't feel near as close to the "crew" as it seems that eye an v and jello... are.

WHen posting pics of your system online people need to start adding watermarks so idiots like these won't reuse them for posting Ads on CL or Ebay or where ever.
They post on CL here in Sacramento as well. Usually we use the Flagging system to get them deleted as quick as possible.. I just wish there was someway they could be filtered or refused from posting.

I was actually thinking of waiting until I could get 8GB and SandyBridge (iX) processors. ;) But the fact they'll have to be ULV will still make their performance lower than the MBPs.
A MBA with SandyBridge and 8GB of ram would be a really nice machine

I was thinking of going to Eaton Centre, but reading after reading some tweets about the massive lineups, I decided to go to Yorkdale instead. I got there at 1:30 and there were about 300 people before me. At 6:30, I walked out with the iPad of my choice. Sweet!

My DVR uses the same symbols for FF and Rewind as my VCR.
Your CF/SD cards are just flash RAM. Flash RAM is just a whole lot of capacitors. Maybe we should call them all "caps".
Is digital camera even a camera? My first digital and my current P&S have the on switch marked "Record".

I liked the hockey puck mouse and still use one on my G4 tower.
I thought the original Pro Mouse with the adjustment on the bottom was very good, the mouse with the scroll ball on top was just awful with how quickly it would gum up.
Now I'm happy with the Magic Mouse, happy after a bought a charger and a few sets of batteries to have on hand...

I have a linksys Wireless Access point on my network that I have had for a few months. I just purchased a Airport Express for printing and it was a pain to get working with the Linksys.
I tried to get CompUSA to let me exchange the Linksys AP for the Airport, but they wouldn't. In my opinion I would have perfered to pay the extra $$ for the Airport then waste a day trying to get the Airport Express to work with the Linksys AP.
If you do go Linksys I would get the WRT54G because you can get 3rd part firmware for it that is much better then what Linksys has.

Judging by the video and screen shots of Lion it doesn't seem like there are that many elements left that use appearance colour anymore anyway. Seems like active buttons and progress bars are the only ones that use still use this colour. It's gone from Scroll Bars, Group Tabs, Popup Lists.
Yes I'm hoping like Highlight Colour it becomes completely user choice with a few well chosen default colours. I do prefer Graphite personally it's just tones things down to be less garish so although with extreme reduction in use the blue may not be so bad.
Any sign that they maybe standardizing on a sidebar background colour?

Not being to familiar with the console I've been using InCrease that works really fast and stays in the background. It even keeps running after I log out at the end of the day (at work) or night (at home) I just recently installed it on my new G5 X-serve (dual 2.3 ghz 520gb mirrored drives with 4gb RAM) and it's doing 50-60point GROMACs in about 7 to 8 hours each, well 2 at a time so I'm crunching about 100 points in 8 hours with it.
