What are chances of Dream Act? --> No one can predict. Depends on how Bush era tax cut bill goes through. Dems has added few provision to please Republicans so they are improving chances.
What are the chances of including our provisions in the bill? --> At this point Republicans want enforcement. They may not bargain for legal immigration in this bill. Rather they may prefer to add some tough rule for dreamers.
What happens if the bill passes without our provisions? ---> We will still have a chance to have our bill as piecemeal or just sit and watch
What happens if the bill fails? --> I hope they get it done, Dreamers are more enthusiastic than us and unless they get it these lawmakers will not think about us. Also they can set example that piecemeal is possible.
WHAT ARE OUR CHANCES IN 2011? --> As I said if dreamer can get their bill done, and CHC doesn't hold any piecemeal in future chances are there. but I doubt CHC will allow any legal immigration bill until Dems are in power of either of house.

One of my cousin works in oracle and he has mentioned to me that oracle is not filing in EB2 category (they used to file before), not sure is it for every one or depends on team to team or person to person.
I would advice you better check in advance as soon as you have job confirmation

I share your views. It's just that 'venting it out' at times may not amount to a total undermining of the merit involved, much as it seems that way. This is not to justify this either. Let's take some 'retro-bothered' views in our stride and brush under the carpet anything that is not meant to be..
It is with the intention of intellectually engaging a promising office that I had proposed we do the above. If this leads to something concrete it will bring smiles - else, no hard feelings..we are either mature or inured to. It's one of those efforts.
Take it easy, folks and BE PROUD OF ALL YOUR EFFORTS. Hey, at the end of it..we all played!
Keep up the spirit! ..we all love our motherland , as also the land that we want to grow on ...

My H1B is going to expire soon and I have renew now.. but my lawyer is chanrging as below( Total Cost : 3520 - Lawyer fee : 1400$), is that we can do by ourself or have to go with lawyer.Please advice....
I have approved 140 and my PD is : AUG 2006 EB2- I.
STATEMENT OF LEGAL SERVICES
H-1B visa extension deposit $ 700
H-1B visa USCIS filing fee $ 320
H-1B visa AWCIA filing fee $1,500
H-4 USCIS filing fee $ 300

Agree. Definitely sounds fishy. Remember, there are a lot of consulting companies and lawyers are there in this forum pretending to be regular members and pushing their own agenda. I may be wrong in this case.

Thanks for the offer. I am not sure if I have permission to shoot any thing on a federal govt agency premises, but will do my best. My sources tell me that some main stream media will cover it. For us to be able to make a good impact, we need to have people there.

We(My wife and I) recently (July 2009) got our FPs done. immediately after that our cases got transferred from TSC to VSC.
PD: Feb 14, 2005.
I thought VSC is not processing any I-485 applications. Is anyone else in the same status ?
Also, I have to apply for EAD and AP.. Do I apply in TSC or VSC ?:confused:

H1B and Employment based GC is for people in speciality fields and for the shortage of US workers for the jobs.
It is not possible for any jobs on commission basis. PERIOD.
You can work on OPT.

I already have an OPT and planning to work on it in the real estate field. but my Opt will be expiring at the end of this year and i am looking for other ways to keep working in the US. Dates were current till 2005. They were again current in between.
So it has been a game of luck. Many people got GCs and may even have citizenship by now. Until 2005 your luck depended on the state your labor was filed from.

I would recommend you stick to you H1B by getting an extension on H1. The problem with EAD is that EAD extensions take long and there is no guarantee your EAD extension will be granted before the present one expires. If this were to happen you are out of status (ppl correct me here if I'm wrong). So maintain ur H1 status as far as possible.

It was easy last year to not pass the bill. We had a Republican President & Congress and Democrats kept on blaming republicans for not doing anything. I think this time the ball will be in the Democrat's court to pass the CIR and send to the President for signature. They won't be able to blame it on republicans.

I think getting salary regulary but salary slip after three or more months is common scenario in industry (deleberate attempt by employers, so that H1B transfer can't be filed). I have faced this music, my kid facing it and I am sure many people facing this.
I was lucky to go about it, USCIS did not ask at the time of transfer. Need to get idea, how others have handled it. Does bank statement work in this case?

Effective June 2007, any agreement relating to recovering immigration fees from employees, or asking them to work for specific period after getting GC, are illegal. You can find details on the following link.
