What's the value of $PWD for the process called by system ? Since you specify a relative path, it will write the file to $PWD/. Try setting an absolute path instead.
Next, what is the euid of the process called by system ? If not run as root, does the user have permissions to write to $PWD ?
Also, why are you casting the result of calloc ? You don't have to cast it if you include stdlib.h which you did.

I just picked up a D-Link DI-524 802.11g router at Best Buy two days ago. Perhaps not the most feature-rich router out there, but there were 40 dollars in rebates, bringing the price to $20. At that price I figured I could make a foray into wireless networking in my house. So far it seems to be working well. It was very simple to set up, and it seems to provide reasonably good coverage. No problems yet!

Hey guys, sorry if this question is asked often.
I have an iPod Touch 4G that I had jailbroken on 4.2.1, but I messed with some system files that I shouldn't have messed with and I had to restore and update to 4.3. Is there anyway I can downgrade to 4.2.1 so I can jailbreak again?
Yeah you can if you have a backup that isn't the current update. Also you can manually install any version of the firmware that is compatible with the phone.

As an academic exercise i would try to write both approaches... treating the number as a number and approaching this with math and treating the number with a string and dealing with it that way.
That's one of the things that wasn't clear in the OP.
What is meant by "The program uses an input function for the number and then returns the results." is it supposed to be treated as a number or a string? Is the input part of the code specified in the problem statement?
Ultimately it doesn't matter since they both reduce to separating the number into digits/characters in either way.

so i wonder how a Core i7-860 will do with folding? the top of the line iMacs seems to be shipping with this processor, and from looking at reviews of the processor, it seems to be a little faster than the core i7-920

What do you mean? Noone actually knows when new products will be released but we can often suspect certain things, about what system are you talking about? Also, the refurb store has some pretty good deals and it won't be a waste of money imo to buy something from the refurb store.
I have changed my mind sooo many times now about what to buy. But I see they are selling some good stuff on the Apple refurb store. If I don't buy right now, when will new products make it back on Apple's page? Thanks

Has anyone been able to use the "FixIt" feature that they demo'd? When I make a mistake and it gets red-underlined, I can right click on it and choose "Show Fix It�" but nothing happens...

The iMac is beating all those PCs... and the eMac and PowerMac are doing nicely too! Even more Macs are in the top 20-30 if you keep scrolling.
And I just checked the laptops... 6 of the top 15 notebooks are from Apple, including 3 in the top 10. All of Apple's laptop models/sizes (maybe not every speed variation) are found in the top 25, even the 17" PowerBook.
And in the general "Computers" category, accessories are all on top (lots of wireless gear), with the 15GB iPod at number one. 2 of the top 10 items are iPods. 5 of the top 20 are Apple products, including AirPort Express and two colors of iPod Mini--which would no doubt rank much higher if the colors were counted together.
So I looked at "Electronics."--a very broad group with cameras, PDAs, computer peripherals, phones, and everything. Cheap little flash cards rank high of course. Even so, the iPod's #3 there. Yep, your photos are nice.. but in today's digital world 99% of all current dslr camera equipment is capable of producing better work than 99% of all current photographers will ever accomplish. As others pointed out, professional success is more about marketing and sales than skill truthfully. I know some really crappy surf photographers that travel the world on some company's dime, while I am stuck on the east coast shooting masterpieces!:p:cool:
Unless you just find a different angle of something and portray it in a new and unique light that hasn't been exploited already; then you may really be on to something.;)
Clark Little (http://www.clarklittlephotography.com/) did it right, with a combination of honed skills, proper use of light and processing, he's revealed the surf in a way never quite seen by the average viewer and yet is appealing to folks who have never even been to a beach. Some risk also was involved.. but you've seen his pics even if you don't know who he is...
