Based on the discussion with Charlie Oppenheim, Chief of Immigrant Visa Control and Reporting, DOS, the AILA has just released the following predictions:
EB-1 (All Countries): Closely match to September 2007 VB
EB-2 (All Countries): Closely match to September 2007 VB
EB-3 (All Countries): Similar to January 2007 VB
EB-3EW (All Countries): 10/01/2001
EB-4: N/A
EB-5: C

In india we created so many types of quotas, some of us cant even live there expecting fairness.

Your idea is marvelous, I totally agree, if not five years, make it eight or ten years but should have something like that. I don�t know how easy/hard is to get this implemented. But we could try for at least some relief once a person finishes a decade in this country.

The reason is...probably we are not toiling that hard....As long as one has a paying job, things go reasonably smooth.....and we dont toil as much as it is made out to be.
The issue comes only when one loses the job...and had to play catch-up with immigration to keep us in status.
That is also the reason why you don't get mass participation in legal immigration activities.
I presume people are just happy with the status-quo! They think of going that extra length only when that status quo gets disrupted..
My 2 cents!
People will do anything only when they are in trouble. Before that they are happy with their status and would rather spend their time and dollars on fun things in life. Only when reality hits hard they will do anything. A fragmented effort will never be successful. Imagine if this driver License is taken up by thousands of people in a state and they march to the governor office on a day. This issue will make national headlines and state will correct it soon.

I understand that is not a reliable source of tracking approval pattern, however, this is the only tracker we have available and this gives us fairly good idea about USCIS processing.
Based on , there are about 1200 Approvals for EB-2 (Including ROW, India and China) since Oct01 2007.
However, there are only 450 approvals for EB-3 (Including ROW, India and China) sine Oct01'2007.
So howcome they ran out of EB3 numbers when there are very few approvals for this year. I was hoping they will run out of EB2 numbers instead.
Any insight on this?

$680 - medical tests
$75 - photographs
$50 - mailing fees.
$100 � Extra Day care expenses. My wife and I have wasted 2 working days for this filling, We had to work extra hours and week ends to compensate. Had to drop my kid at the day care extra hours when we were working extra hours.

Without GC, they were working for the same client with even more pay and life was good if not better.

i don't think settling for a lesser salary after getting GC is a wise thing to do & i hope you as well as most of the people here would not like to do that unless a person has outdated skills & does not want to upgrade or wants to accept whatever he gets without any efforts.

I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs. We don't have any such resource. So I don't think IV not getting enough donations can be blamed on IV users.
I have donated as much as I can without getting my budget in jeopardy with all the mortgage , taxes, "health insurance " .medicare, car payments etc etc that we have to deal with.
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants considering the mood of the people in the Congress . No one would like to hurt their political career with voting for us in the Congress. The politicians do only lip service whether for illegal or legal immigrant bills. They have zero interest in seeing them passed in the Congress.

With all the respect this is not true; at least not all the time. As far as I know, and according to my observations, I485s are being pre-adjucated even if their priority dates are not current. They seem to work on such I 485s as far as they can, and once their priority dates become current, the USCIS information system flags them so that they can be adjucated. Sometimes, however, it takes a few months since USCIS has a backlog of I485s and some of the things like FPs must be done again. I have at least 2 friends who got approval a month after their PDs became current. In fact, on of them got a 3FP notice right after his PD became current, and 2 weeks later received the approval.
I think it all depends on many factors, but I would not agree with your statement that USCIS stops 485 processing once the PD retrogresses.

approved 140, file 485, wait for 180 days, change jobs, no queries at all (irrespective of whether you change jobs or not)

This is not just applicable to consulting companies alone. Any types of companies and applicants in any categories (Eb-1,2&3) could get RFE at the last stage of the process. So to have your application processed without a shred of a doubt, it is best to be in a position to reply that RFE anytime during the process.
