I have a refurbished iPhone 4, 32 GB, I bought from at&t. It is in great shape, and was likely a return with in the 30 day window. I found out that if you buy a refurbished phone from Apple, the warranty resets to when you buy it, but if you buy it from at&t is is based of the original date of sale.

I have a black iPhone 4 but I am gonna list it on ebay and get the white one.

I'm gonna do this partly because I have wanted the white since day 1 and I want a change having had the black since launch... Doesn't sound logical to most I know but hey I don't care!

Secondly, having sold many iPhones on ebay, I know that the white versions sell well and when it comes to the time to sell again shortly before the iPhone 5 comes out (in say September) - the white will do better than the black would.

All in all I expect to pay around 80 for the switch from black to white and, as I say, I expect to get a better price for the white when it comes to sell in the future.

Still, a completely well thought out, illogical decision to most I know I know lol!

Why don't they just admit it. It's a security patch. Every small patch released in between full digit numbers tend to be security patches. The next real update will be 5.0.

Where do I find the TV out settings on my ipod nano? My goal is to watch slideshows I create with the macbook on my TV. I've read that I can move the slideshows onto the ipod and use RCA cables to view on the TV. Is this true? Any other suggestions or better ways to accomplish this goal? I also have an iphone 3gs if that works better.

    People still use LotusNotes?

My wife uses it at her work, and I've been contemplating working there as well. Maybe this will eliminate a barrier to bringing my Powerbook to a Windows-centric business :)

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, Lotus Notes.

The current version (available to us) is 6.55. It's carbonized and STILL has a bunch of lame pre-1998 artificial software locks built into it. It's slow, it's cumbersome, and the UI is terrible.

Another quality piece of **** brought you by the people who crapped out Tivoli.

From what I gather, it's just like LaunchBar, no?

I haven't messed with it a whole lot, so I don't know all its ins and outs, but it seemed to be doing a similiar thing (brings up applications/files as you type).

Not bad, although if they are the same idea, I prefer launch bar - just wish it was free ;)

    Except QuickSilver is free.

I don't remember LaunchBar too well, I tried it about 9 months ago. Quicksilver has some really neat features. I find it *ESSENTIAL*

Hi Zen. Yeah i understand I need to change the firmware. I was focusing all my panic on the kernal crashes and will look at installing the cards today and updating the firmware whilst i'm at it.

Thank you very very much for the assistance you have provided. It really is 'above & beyond' and really marks you out as one of the top contributors to this forum.

I've spent some time in the non PPC section and it seems to be full of haters, and mac-bashers - 'why hasn't the new ****** got ******? Apple are so crap/expensive/dont care about the little man' etc etc etc ad infinitum.

It seems the camaraderie of keeping older machines running makes for a more peaceful, happy section of the site.

Apple already released a new iPhone this year... remember? The one that works on a CDMA network! You really think they would put all that work into rolling out the CDMA iPhone 4 in February then turn around 4 months later and expect these people to buy an iPhone 5? You know how many pissed off Verizon people there would be? June 2012 at the earliest... ;)

Further evidence that new hardware will not be released this summer. Why go through the trouble of firing up production of this phone just to shut it down in a month if not less than a month to start production of a new phone?

I'd disagree that designers should be making text areas 100% wide though. I've a 2560 wide screen. That'd be silly. Letting users on the other hand size it themselves and giving designers the tools to accommodate resizing is the way to go

At the same time, it's kinda silly to view most web pages at 2560 wide, even 1200+. At that point a paragraph is usually only one or two lines, forcing you to do quite a bit of tracking to read what you want. If you're comfortable viewing the text that way, why not edit it that way as well?

But I definitely agree that letting the users resize the textareas inside the page is a great usability feature. Just was trying to point out that there are already (simple) solutions to the issue.

I got this and Missile Command. It's pretty terrible on the iPod touch. Way too small to be playable without bringing on a migraine.

What's in it for me? Seriously, the owner of Macrumors makes $100K plus off this site (so much that he quit his job AS A DOCTOR.) Why should I give blood just to glorify the name of his website & make him richer?

    What's in it for me?

I can't work out if humour was intended with this comment?

You can give blood and not tell anyone about it. Neither you nor MacRumors will get the glory, but you will have that small warm and fuzzy feeling inside. :)

For feature films and television these days, Final Cut is ABSOLUTELY the industry standard. Oh and in the 8 years I've lived in Hollywood, I never met one person in the industry who uses a Windows PC (maybe a writer or two).

For feature films? I call BS! Maybe for independent "features" and even that is debatable.

btw, whats the verdict on ram coolers? yes/no

IMO yes, esp. copper ones. I've bought some of these (http://shop.conrad-uk.com/1/2-a2-uk0871057__akasa-memory-cooler-copper-ak-171-.html). On clearance it was for about 2 per 1 stick set.

    iphone1105 is correct.

FYI, there's an explanation in the FAQ:
Why are some Apple products missing from the Buyer's Guide?
