I have been in this country for almost 10 years and I have never felt more stressed about these status issues than I did today. I even stopped working from this afternoon reading forums for similar cases, finding info here and there etc. :(

since the guy is already used to having two wives it won't be that hard to have thrid wife for a change.Hence I suggest don't bring anyone of them here for sometime.Get married here to a US citizen, then divorce her after you get your GC.Atlease this unique situation has something good to offer.

All this consultant bashing aside...and while 70% are indeed crooks....there are a lot of Fortune 100 and 500 companies where the entire IT staff is on H1B visas through these same firms.....I wonder who will handle operations if this is banned outright.....there is a reason it is still being allowed despite the abuse....

I have 2 questions. Why you think only I485 not greencard. Fight and get Greencard? Start protest self. Others join when one start. Why not you?

Is this still an active topic? or its dead? Are there people with US Master - STEM who are willing to come forward?
I am just trying to gauge this? To me, looks perfect candidate for piece meal while waiting for CIR, justification could be same as 20K quota for H1b, keep US educated in the country and keep contributing to US economy & society. It has two benefits, a) direct to people who have US Master, b) there will xx less number of people in front of who don't qualify for this so their turn will come sooner.

Listen dude, these companies doesn�t have financials like Microsoft so no point talking microsoft. I have a friend who runs a very small consulting company. Another friend of mine wanted an H1 for his younger brother He made 100 promises to this guy , like please bring him here he�ll work for you for atleast 1 year blah blah. I requested this friend of mine and he sponsored my other friend�s brother�s H1B.. Now this guy sponsored his H1B spend $3000 on fees etc. $1000 for air ticket etc. This brother guy came in and disappeared in 2 months for more money. He was on project!! he jumped in the middle for more money. Now you tell me what should these people do. It�s all same people just in different roles. So I would say there is a stiff competition between consultant and these companies about who screw who.

Without GC, they were working for the same client with even more pay and life was good if not better.

i don't think settling for a lesser salary after getting GC is a wise thing to do & i hope you as well as most of the people here would not like to do that unless a person has outdated skills & does not want to upgrade or wants to accept whatever he gets without any efforts.

Can anything be grimmer than U (EB3) and 01-JAN-2000 --almost 1999 (EB2) which it is currently?
It may be "U" (that's not grim for us for sure, we can take anything now --some have lost it waiting long... so try out?)
Or ohhh wait r they creating a new record assigning something like 1991 for EB* (India) rather than U?

I read somewhere that doctors abroad who do the tests for consular processing cannot be used for AOS medicals.
u'll get RFE only if theres is a mistake in medicals, if there is NO medicals in the 485 packet, i think ur appln will be outright sent back.
whats ur PD, if its in the range of 2000 u still have hope that in next few months ur date becoems eligible for AOS.
ive heard that there are some doctors out there (of questionable integrity) who accept cash and give out medical reports. even tho this is a backdoor approach, u can make a few calls and give it a try. to make ur case more genuine, try to get a list of all attributes recorded in the blood and skin test, and get those done promptly done in india. atleast let the doctor copy over ur wifes actual stats rather than inventing it. If ur case is genuine, may be someone will be merciful to help u out of ur predicament.
Preponing visa interview without very valid reason cud be harmful. u never know, if they catch ur wife telling a lie then ull be walking on thin ice.
last year my friend visited india...he is on 7the year H1, and got 3 yrs extn based on 140. he had attached copy of approved 140 as proof...the chennai visa officer only asked him "is ur company paying for ur GC or you urself" ..he answered Company is paying full amount. and they gave him the visa. :-) if Govt is using approved 140 to give 3 yrs extn, obviously they know the intent to get GC...i dont believe telling truth that ur company is processing GC for you is going to harm you.

I bet there are tons of fine print to be qualified as "Illegal", I keep hearing " people who CAME (entered) ILLEGALLY before jan 2007..." , so " legal to ILLEGAL conversion " will not qualify i think.
