FBI name check delays that have stalled benefit applications may soon be a thing of the past. We understand that the Executive branch will soon provide name check clearances within a prescribed amount of time. If the clearance is not completed within the designated timeframe, the benefit will be approved by USCIS while the FBI continues to work on the security process in parallel. The rationale to move tothis new process is not just better customer service for benefits applicants but also because it will enhance national security(our security demands that the bad guys be apprehended, not merely be denied immigration benefits). Finally after repeated expedite requests, SR, etc, I just received a call from my local congressman that NSC mentioned to them that AP renewal has been approved. I just saw a LUD update yesterday and today in my and my spouse's AP online case status. Its still sitting in initial review only. Hopefully it will show me approved in a day or two. Local congressman told that they will keep my case open until I call back and let them know its approved. Hoping to see an approval soon, will keep you all updated.

I dont believe Indian govt can help in this...Lets first gather people and we will let you know the next course of action. There are bunch of people in Face book who got struck up in visa delays. I am trying to reach out to them. Its big group...try to get them here. Please contact those people...

Ignore the IOs, just talk to your Senator or Congressman. They will be able to help you out. I was stuck in name check for more than 3 years. My congressman did not help but the senators office had a namecheck cell and they help out with genuine cases. The person there helped me clear my name check in 2-3 months (talk, dont email, send certified letter with details after talking to them). Had i known this earlier I would have had contacted them earlier and would have gotten my GC in June 07. My lawyer sdid not allow us to contact the IOs for information and i suffered big time because of that. Based on my experience all i can say is be proactive.

But now that they have opened my application and mailed an RFE on Oct 22, at least I know that some IO is processing my case. Right now I am eagerly waiting for the RFE details. My law firm(FDBL) has not received it yet. I am pinging them every other day.

Sorry, I did not raise my arm to indicate that it was ALL sarcasm. Durbin is aginst H1B. Although his press release says that he is not against green cards, but thats just bull.

OH Law firm did post the reliable and credible information from Chaerlie Openheim (VB in charge from state Dept) and his predictions for Oct 2007 VB are similar to the January 2007 VB.
Nothing new about this, lot of websites already published this information.

I guess this link is for H1 violation.

Today I got a call from an officer in "immigration and customs enforcement" asking for an appointment to visit my residence for checing my immigration status.
I am on H1B visa.
I would appreciate if someone could give any sort of information related to calling for a home visit.

this is a one-sided view of someone hell-bent over renting is better than buying.
not all the things make sense for all areas of US. In texas you can buy 2000+ sq.ft area house for around 200k.
and if you take 15 yrs mortgage, you will not pay more money towrads your interest.
people on internet have their own agenda. dont fall for this one unless the guy is Warren Buffett or the likes of him...

If you want to help IV and in turn help yourself
step 1. setup atleast $25 recurring contribution to IV and become a Donor.
step 2. participate in your state chapter
if its not active ...make it active
step 3. coordinate with other volunteers and help with media outreach
or meet your local lawmakers along with fellow IV members to talk about our issues.
sure there are plenty of things IV could do better but it cannot happen without your active participation. People who get greened will leave cause they do have better things to do than to toil on for people who don't even appreciate their efforts on here. Some who are noble stick around to help.
If you are complaining that there is no bill to help legal immigrants then ask yourself...Have you done your part in pushing for it?

When (what date) did you get a notice from NSC saying that your I-485 is now transferred into NSC and now pending from processing?
I never received a transfer notice from NSC, however my wife received a transfer notice long back (some time in Sep')
