Hello IV Freinds,
I checked my mail last Saturday, got Cards and welcome approval notices in mail. Status at USCIS website still shows all cases pending. I had called my Senators office for follow up week before as processing dates also had also passed.
I appreciate IV for providing this website for sharing our immigration issues and concerns in this long journey.
Good luck to all IV members who are still awaiting for good day to come.

I am in the same position guys, I have a approved H1b visa (started oct 2010), I am flying to mumbai through Munic, so I probably wont need a transit visa....

I agree with smuggy, we do not fight hard to get money because
We don't really work that hard to make that money, If you worked during your undergraduate years in slaughter houses like McDonalds and Pizza hut, you would know what the value of money today, most of them are paid by their parents,
Most of the desis are creative but lazy at work (esp. people in my company), so they work long hours, Can not read complicated text, especially from Insurance companies
and some of them are look backwards as lawsuits are taboo, terrible balance between work and life, procrastination, and finally, not understanding of how to make use of simple, dummy proof American legal system to solve tiny and simple problems like insurance payments and rejections.

After July 30th, you have to pay the higher fee, but you will get free AP/EADs for the entire duration until adjudication.
So, it's up to you (and whoever is paying for ur EADs).. you can decide appropriately.

From the USCIS memo posted on AILA's website (ref: http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=22912):
USCIS�s announcement today allows anyone who was eligible to apply under Visa Bulletin No. 107 a full month�s time to do so. Applications already properly filed with USCIS will also be accepted. I have applied EAD renewal to AZ lock box. It was delivered on Mar 29. I have not got any receipt so far. Also check is not cashed.
Now it is 30 days and I should be able to call USCIS.
I have two questions:
1. Mail was sent with delivery confirmation, which confirms delivery on Mar 29. What if the package is lost there? Could I applying again? How USCIS treats two applications?

Pending AOS or 485 is a type of legal status. It also allows you to apply for additional work and travel privileges as long as the underlying 485 remains pending. If you choose not to avail yourself of those benefits that that is up to you. You would end up in trouble only if you violate that by then working or travelling (absent the USCIS permission through EAD or AP). As long as you just sit there and especially if you are a derivative beneficiary, there is no problem.
That said, many people choose to get EAD/AP in hand in case an employment opportunity or an emergency need for travel comes up. Remember an EAD/AP application may take up to 3mths to get approved.

I hope I am posting in the right space and hoping to get some input from people who have been in a similar situation.
My mother is coming from India (Hyderabad) to San francisco . The ticket was booked in India and we were hoping to get a travel companion for her and help her through gate changes, customs and related stuff. When we talked to travel agents they kept postponing until one week before departure (She leaves on 14th). Now they were able to locate one companion until London but after that they split.
Eventhough wheelchair assistance was requested from London and confirmed. I am worried that she never traveled by herself and she wouldn't be able to complete all the forms or answer all the questions or even stand in the right queue by herself at the port of entry in San francisco.
I am sure there will be other passengers from London to San francisco but I want to talk to them before she gets on the plane and not leave to chance and hope somebody helps her. With all the new privacy issues how do we get in touch with Telugu(worst case Hindi) speaking people on the plane from London to San francisco.
I would appreciate your input

Many of my friends utilized Mr.Gowda for H1B and GC. All my friends & hundreds in the same firm got GC'S without any querries.
Frankly speaking I do not have any personal relations with the company.
I used his services and felt exactly what mhtahim mentioned about Gowda. He is reasonable and professional.

My employer asked me to send my 485 application directly to NSC instead of attorney Since there was a wide spread rumor last month( june ) end that USCIS going to accept the applications that are going reach them only on July 2nd and I did exactly the same thing. NSC received my application by July 2 at 7:30am.
I properly signed my set of applications (485,765,131,134,325a,g28) and my wife did the same with her set.
I didn't give attorney info on any of the applications except on G-28 FORM.
BUT there is no attorney signature on G-28 FORM since I filed on my own and Is going to create any problem, I mean is there any possibility that USCIS GOING to reject My application? Your help greatly appreciated.

Come on folks - all the way to Riverhead we have tonnes of people living in these areas affected by Retrogression.
EAD is not a solution - EAD just makes our life a bit easier than on h1b - the struggle continues even on EAD.
How can you expect govt to fix your problem if you lack motivation?
Lets start mobilizing the chapter
Remember, we are no VIPs, we are in a mass distribution system and no one has special previlidges here, your lives won't change uless you motivate yourselves and speak up for yourselves.
We need a very strong resprsentation from everyone in the community.
Ignoring our requests only puts all of us in a tougher situation

Hi,
I need some info. about whether it is good idea to do Canadian PR Landing and H1B extension stamping in one visit to Canada?
Here is the situation:

1. I got Canadian PR approval. I have submitted passport for stamping. After They mail it back to me, I need to travel to Canada(want to go to Vancouver) and at the border apply for PR Landing forms.
2. I have H1B extension approval but need stamping as I need to travel to INdia later this year on vacation. So when I go to canada, can I go to US Consulate apply for stamping and come back to US with same stamping???
I dont have AP so I cannot come back to US without the stamping. So what is the best solution in this case.?
I need to land in Canada before May 2008.

I had to generate paystubs for my wife from Jan 07 to May 07 due to recent USCIS goof up. She started working from May 07. However all the paystubs generated ( 5) , have a pay period from 05/01 - 05/31 and pay date is 07/11

Oh, and i wish i had buy it! A friend of mine told me about it and made a copy for me for testing. (not pretty legal, i know, but if i like the soft i finally buy it. I only need to check it in advance, because my salary is not that big to buy just for checking. Sure you know what i mean

I do think that painter has many features that photoshop doesn't, but out of the two, Photoshop is probebly a lot more useful. If you want to draw though, and you want to gain a real sense of texture which is the same as the none virtual medium, then Painter is the only way to go. That is to say.. if you want your cartoon to look like it's drawn in crayon.. Photoshop just wont cut it.
Edwin is really the one to ask about this. He's a very experienced Photoshop user and also has Painter6.0.
I will take a look around for books.. but like you and I have already said.. pickins are scarce.
