I don't agree with what mbawa2574 has to say,but I certainly disagree banning mbawa for expressing views. I think, mbawa2574 is well within limits of posting anything that could hurt IV image/goals. ( On this thread, I mean).
What's the damage caused to your effort?( apart from deleting threads )
I'd rather help channel his thoughts and energies in a direction that helps IV than ban him.

Have you tried asking Numbersusa, Programmers Guild and your employer about changing leadership? What makes this organization any different? Just because anyone can post anything on IV website to get visibility on the homepage, its not ok to abuse the resources of the organization. We did not create IV to promote democracy or freedom of expression, there are ample of other sites to promote democracy and freedom of expression, you are free to use those resource at your liking. IV website is for a single purpose of achieving the goals we have set for the organization. You can find our goals on the website. And anything that conflicts with our goal will be removed. Its easy to use terms like democracy, freedom of expression etc to defend actions that malign the good effort put in by others. To make things clear, IV's objective is not to promote or preserve democracy/freedom of expression. We have a goal to achieve and we will not deter from our goal, whatever it takes.

EB1 Spill Over --> EB2 with oldest priority dates --> EB2 ROW --> --> EB3 with oldest priority dates(India & China) -->EB3 ROW.

Is it a bad idea to ask for help from the indian government, there are ministers like "Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs - Vayalar Ravi" who is supposed to look into issues we are having here, even if contacting them doesn't help, it atleast will not hurt us. i think there are few good ministers in there who can understand our problems, they may not help us with $$ but may be able to help us with their lobbying groups.
i think "Ronen Sen - India's ambassador to USA" is another person who will be sympathetic to our cause.

DOL claimed that the newspaper ad was sent to them without the date of it. So we sent them back the whole paper-page where the date is usually printed at the very top with my job ad on it.

Now my question is, did they ask you to submit the newspaper ad some point after your manager/lawyer submited your LC application online? It seems like you sent the just ad part and they were not satisfied with it and asked more evidence and you sent the whole page again. Did they deny your LC after you sent the whole page ad or what point did they deny it?

I have found a site that calculates the focal length:

I have just checked the focal length at the wide angle end of the scale using a tape measure and got surprisingly close (7.02mm) agreement with the manufacturer's figure (7mm). With that, I can now find where on the scale the standard (50mm) length would be - just for interest's sake.

I am planning to book tickets for my parents travelling from India to US and returning back to India after 2 months. I have some questions:

My 140 was approved in 2007 ,but today i got email from USCIS ,

Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing
On May 12, 2009, we transferred this case I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to update your address. You can use our processing dates to estimate when your case may be processed by following the link below. I told him that you can file for I-140 and port the date together he says NO. Please clarify?

quick update: I received the receipt notices today for EAD Renewal by mail. can't believe it, but truly received for myself and my wife.
Big question is
1.Mine is having case number as LIN08801XXXXX which is fine, because my entire GC process since past 5 years is in Nebraska Service Center. I'm the primary applicant
2.But wife's case number is different, which is NSC08801XXXXX and clearly mentioned in the notice that her case is with national benefits center, Lee's summit MO.( By the way we live in Missouri)
The entries for "Class requested" is shown as C09 in both cases, which i believe correct.
Help:
Has anybody received like this before? if it's normal, i'm not worried
If not, any clues about next steps like do i need to call somebody or call Nebraska ??? a bit worried. any help ???????

I got the pink slip 3 weeks back with one month severance. So my target was to secure the job in one month to avoid loss of pay. Finally secured the job with 3 offers from 3 top companies.
Some tips if it may be helpful to others , that I recently expereinced
1. Read your resume thoroughly and see if there are anything that you can improve and make the resume with the core skills, do not make the resume of mix of different profiles, like dba, architect, project manager, make them all seperate.
2. Try to make the submission to the direct employer or recruiter on top of the chain. You can do that finding contacts on linked in.
3. Do not compromise a lot, this makes these recruiters to think that you are vulnerable for any exploitation, (happened with me, I kicked there butt after getting selected and telling them on why did I do that)

A million dollar question is : What order are they following ? I am having PD of April 14th , 2004. Still waiting.
They definitely are not working in PD order. PD is only used to skip a case if not due. They seem to work in order of paper filed cases, which are perhaps stacked in order they physically receive them (which is generally a date a few days prior to ND). That's what they mean when they claim "we process cased in order we receive them".
With above logic, your case was "received" in CSC in July08. Therefore, they are unlikely to look at it until they look those received prior to July'08. This is bad management, but that's how they seem to work. That also proves as to why they ask/get wider PD openings as year end nears (so that they don't have to skip too many cases when they pick cases one after another in order they physically received them).

To celebrate or not to celebrate is the question. I received this email from my attorney's office:
Congratulations! You and your wife are now Legal Permanent Residents of the United States! It has been confirmed this afternoon your I-485 applications were approved this week and your green cards have been ordered.
However, my online status did not change. My question is : Has USCIS stopped updating online status ? or Is this a mistake on my attorney's side ?
Can I do anything in the next 3 days to confirm what happened to my case ? Suggestions appreciated.
It is going to be a long long long weekend for us.

Guys - I apologize, I was not aware that this has been already discussed extensively.
The truth of the matter is that our organization needs funds. The ideal way to get funds is for every member to understand the value of IV and contribute. That will take its own course.
In addition to that i think we should look at events as they happen that affect our community and use those to rally our members and get additional help from them - time, resources and money and we have done that in the past and have succeeded. When our bills passed in the senate and we needed money to lobby the house, a call was made and people did contribute.I think constructive feelings of hope, happiness and success do encourage people.
If things happen as folks expect and a lot of IV members do get their GC in the next 2 months, i think this would be an event to target and request members to contribute to IV.
So fine with me if this has already been discussed, Can we promote this and track it. Would it be too much to add a second thread that talks about contributions to IV when i look at 5 threads at the top of the list that all track LUD's :)
