485 was approved on 7/26/07. Wife's 485 was delivered by Fedex to Nebraska Service Center on 7/19/07.
Is wife OK and does this mean her 485 is pending(even though receipt is not sent by USCIS yet) or she is going to be out of status???
Thanks,

I would pass this info to my employer and lawyer.
As of now my employer is bearing 45% of the costs and promised to cover the other 55% later.
Thanks

These can be done through state chapters. In tri state chapter, we have always been having meet and greets. A lot of pics have been uploaded to http://immigrationvoice.blogspot.com
During the first few months of IV - when there was a meeting, we had around 3 to 5 people, but in a recent IV meeting in New Jersey we had around 60 people.
Anyone can take an initiative and do this.
Conference calls, meet and greet, publicity campaigns etc... can all be done effectively via state chapters

I wondered what the first would look like if the background (horizon) were hidden. Then you did exactly that in the second one. I think I like it better when you can see more of the background. Without that, I found myself wondering what the fence was hiding. I thought more about what wasn't there than about what was.
The third is my favorite with a nice blend of colors as a backdrop for a story of numerous dead parts that used to be a functional whole.
I found the green grass distracting in the last image. After thinking about it for a while, I decided it was a story of a structure at the end of its life. The green grass seemed out of place because it was too alive and too close. Similar comment on the white (ceramic?). Everything else is worn, faded, rusted. Not sure if that makes sense. But the only life in the picture is way out on the horizon, far removed from this remote graveyard.
I like the setting. It reminds me of chasing pheasants in Iowa.

Friends,
I have had 10+ members sign up so far.
This is as important as the fund raising. The same group of contributors cannot contribute all the time, please join the effort to bring more people in by signing up in the Membership drive. Just email me at jay@immigrationvoice.org so that I can send you a 5 page pdf document to get your started.
More members means:
Bigger organization.
More funds to pay for lobbying.
More faxes and emails to congress when the time comes for grassroots advocacy.
Thanks,
Jay.

I am in the process of changing job. The new employer is saying that I can start working with them from the very next day, after they file H1B transfer application. ie I don't have to wait for the receipt. Is this true? They are asking me to give 2 weeks notice immediately so that by the time they file H1B, 2 weeks will get over, and I can start there immediately.
Please reply its kind of urgent for me.
Thanks.
yes you can start working when the application is filed. If you have time then i'd prefer you wait for the reciept notice confirming your application has reached and then switch jobs.

If you are looking for career change PT MBA is not a good option, you can do PT MBA if you are typically further along in career, often on track for advancement to senior management and you need to balance heavy course load in addition to work and family. I'll be graduating this May from Wharton (Executive MBA) I'm already started getting lucrative offers from consulting firms but unfortuately my I-140 is still pending
So, will the new jobs "change" your job description to render AC-21 ineffective (similar or same category job etc.)?

I want to start a new thread But donot know how to...
Core Team,
As you know there are a number of applications stuck in PBEC and DBEC.
These are operated by Exceed corporation. I have a proposal that I urge you consider. Please send a memorandum from IV to exceed corporation stating that if we donot see faster results from the backlog elimination centers we would urge the senators to exclude Exceed Corporation from getting any contracts from Federal government originating from CIR..
This should light some fire under PBEC and DBEC...
Please do this to bring some relief for folks stuck in the BECs.....
Moderators please make this a separate thread.....

Thanks everyone...
At last I was able to book it. We need to complete all the steps in order to get the page for selecting dates. Problem I had was..while filling up ds157, I use to see the code script:).
I had used the same website earlier but never had to lose patience like this time.
Once I finished giving the courier details , I was presented with date selection. Also why do they take petitioner details...??..I had to give my I797 details...??I hope they do all the required checking before I visit them.
Here are the tips while using the online appointment.
1. Don't expect the process to be smooth. Set aside 1-1.5 hours for filling the form.
2. Use IE only and make sure you enable pop ups for the vfs website.
3. After you complete all the 3 steps(DS156,157 and petitioner details) you will be presented with date selection.
Citinri and vsf website are the worst website I have seen ever since I started to browse.(more than a decade)
Hope this helps
