With out a GC, you may not get the best rate. But you sure can get a mortgage loan while in H1/EAD.
When you shop around ask for rate quote and that time they won't ask your immigration status. If bank changes the rate based on your immi status, do not go with them.
I bought the house while I was on H1 4 years back (I am still using my H1 and I have an EAD now) and nobody asked me my imm status. I submitted the document at the time of doing paperwork but it did not change my rate. I got the best rate based on my credit from wells fargo.

Scott, here's goes the B&H 10 rated used 10D and 1Ds again. Why B&H have to sell this at such a premium of $6,030 above that of Adorama's $5,200? Are they supposed to be married couples, or, at least civil union?

Why are you worrying much, Why dont you go back to India and come back after one year. Then file for green card. When you do not have project for 6 months why are you worrying for green card?
If you are not married, go back to India find a nice girl get married, enjoy for one yr and come back again.By that time economy will improve and you get project easily.

Actually, if you work for a Canadian company the time spent outside Canada will count as if you were in Canada. So, you will still be able to meet the 2/5 requirement. But you need to check what are the conditions, I know that you can't just create your own company and stay there for example. Check the requirements.
On the US side, what visa will you be working on ? H1B ? If you like to stay in US, why not gained Canadian citizenship and work on TN, which is 3 years now (maybe more in the future) and very easy ?

sent to USCIS Texas on June 29, received on JUly 2nd at 10:25 AM. no receipts and no checks cashed yet. the USCIS receipting notice Texas said that they have finished receipting July 2 appl. what happened to our appl then?
pls anyone who filed july 2 at texas and with the same info who got their cks cashed and receipts rec, kindly share here. tnx!

First of all after applying H1 extension you have a 240 day window when you wont be out of status even if your H1 expired ( as long as the extension is applied when the current was Valid). My H expired on Jan 29th and i applied on Jan 9th and the last 5 months i worked as usual without Visa or I-94 ( but in Status) ...
Don't worry at all - if by chance anyone reaches near 8 month/240 day finish line which is highly unlikely, pump in extra 1000 bucks and upgrade that to a Premium H and you must hear a decision within 15 days....
There are tons of options - even if Premium doesn't work still there are 2 more options ( of course within legal boundary )...

I am in the same boat. I believe you can go ahead and start your full time study, Now I don't think your wife's case is pending based on your work, since you already got your GC.
Even in the worst case you can sponsor your wife with your GC status. I was kidding my wife that I become UC and sponsor her.

Well there is a thread here talking about the pros and cons of multiple 485 filing so that means it can be done. As far as i have read its not illegal but it might delay the process. Different lawyers have diff opinion. Both our lawyers agreed for multiple filing and so to be on the safe side(one has an early PD and the other's job is more stable) we are filing 2 485s, but only one EAD and AP.

I applied I-485 in July 2007. But didn't apply for EAD/AP. I applied for EAD for the first time now, few days back and I was asked by my lawyer a check of $340 as application fee.

FYI: Ours went to R Williams on July 2nd/NSC and there is thread on this forum if you are interested. We heard nothing. According to the posts, if any of R Williams cases had any action, they happened at other service centers. You person might be sending the submittals around as well if they were received on July 2nd. Hang in there :cool:

What kind of documents/letters/evidence has your current employer included in your application to prove that the two positions are > 50% different? Is there a standard procedure for doing this? Too many questions...sorry. But I hope you understand my situation :(. Please provide you responses. That will greatly help.
