No way CIR or any form of amnesty for illegal will happen in the next few year.
Immigration is one thing where majority of Americans are united in controlling illegal population.
It can pass Senate but House it will never pass.
Moment CIR comes up, the right wing will arouse the masses. House members focus on more
local issues and in many districts people don't want illegal amnesty or CIR. They want a crackdown.
Democratic members in the House will never pass CIR against a Republican opposition otherwise they will pay a heavy price in the election.
In fact democratic party was able to get the house by selecting conservation candidates in the
conservative districts. That is was the Howard dean/Rahm Emanuel strategy. Select candidates who can win rather than candidates who are steadfast with core democratic party principles.
Thus you have democratic party members like Jim Webb who are ardent supporters of the NRA
(pro guns) in a state like Virginia.
Lamar Smith, Zoe Lofgren, Xavier Becerra,Howard Berman, Lincoln D�az-Balart, Luis Guti�rrez, Nydia Vel�zquez,
Adam Putnam, Anthony Weiner.....all run in Hispanic leaning districts and therefore want CIR. But Congress members
from other districts cant support this.

I have the same feeling. With the move to Jan 2005 and the new rule about namechecks I think the numbers will get used fast for ROW.
The only people that will not be able to take advantage of this are the ones with old PDs from BEC that filed 485 and 140 in the June-August madness and are waiting for the 140 to be approved.
I presume that ROW would be significantly impacted by this as India & China would not benefit a lot from it now because of PDs being badly retrogressed. I'm afraid that this has the potential of exhausting EB3-ROW row numbers for the rest of the year. Am I wrong to assume this?

The data USCIS has published may not be 100% accurate. There are several thousand applications that may not have been pre-adjudicated at the time of publication of this data. and look at the date when it was posted. Is it a coincidence that IV started a similar initiative two days later? could be... but he deserves some recognition. Ron is an immigration lawyer and not a 10k member organization such as IV so he does what he can, and in my opinion provides a good free of charge, service to the community, something that I don't see a lot of other people doing.

I think he posts spicy messages on his forum to market himself. He uses strong language against USCIS to gain support from his prospective clients.
Has he ever stood up for immigrants other than writing strong worded posts? Give me examples as I do not know any? I may be wrong in my assumption.

On one hand we have VLD Rao crunching numbers like CRAY XMP and telling that EB2 will be close to current by End of the Year . On the other hand Mapadpa now says that the movement will be slow . I am a mere mortal and i am confused to the core on what to make of it ,

We shouldn't give much significance to what USCIS and DOS officials say. Both of these departments don't have a grasp on what is happening in their respective organizations.
They are just government officials doing some PR activity for the sake of it.
I also don't give any significance to the description that DOS provides in visa bulletins ( Due to extreme demand, visa category X is oversubscribed.. blah blah blah ...):mad:

Is that something we all go through or is it at random? Where can we go to see if we are in the process of going through that or if we have gotten passed it already.

To find out about namecheck, you can call USCIS and if you get an officer on the line (not the cust service representative ), then you can find out.
You can also find out about the status of your namecheck with infopass appointment. That will take up some of your time.

The law seems to have changes due to AC21, I don't think we can get any actual data of any one who got his GC after AC21 and has already converted to citizenship.
It would be really great if IV can contact USCIS and get an official guideline on this topic.
